Cecily Hangen, a native New Yorker, moved to Florida in 1967. Her art education was at the
Art Students League, Cooper Union, Yale University with Josef Albers and in France with
Jacques Villon. Hangen worked as a commercial artist for 15 years and also taught art.
Her paintings have been exhibited at the Norton Museum of Art and at the Boca Raton
Museum of Art. She has had a solo exhibit at the Brevard Museum of Art at Melbourne, FL.
Hangen has been a partner in two Palm Beach galleries for 12 years. Her colorful abstract
paintings in two and three dimensions can be seen at the Hangen Thompson Gallery, 326
Peruvian Ave, in the Via #3, Palm Beach, Florida.
